When you come into the therapy space, you can expect me to be ready to receive you. You, or in the case of a couple, your relationship, is the center of my focus. I will listen. I will ask questions. I may laugh with you, and I might even cry with you. We might use a book, or an assessment, a tree, an art project, or a poem to help shape our work together. We might use silence. We might just breathe. However you or you and your partner or family member come into the space, you will be received.
I work best with individuals over age 14, couples, and adult family (and chosen family) units. I am curious about what is important to you and how that informs your life. If you are looking for a therapist who meticulously follows one particular theory, that is not me. As I get to know you, I will draw from theories and modalities that seem to fit your learning style, belief system, and comfort level. I value your feedback and welcome your input.
If you think that I might be a good fit for you at this time in your life, let’s talk. I offer a free 15 minute consultation phone call or Google Meet session so that you can ask questions and get a sense for how we might work together. If you are considering me for couple’s counseling, or family counseling, it might be helpful for each of you to talk with me before we begin. My hope is that you will find a helper that is a good fit for you, and I wish you well as you take steps forward in your journey.
