Brian Hollingsworth (he/him) works with adults seeking support for a variety of concerns related to anxiety, stress, sexual orientation, gender identity, life transitions, vocational discernment, and spiritual concerns. He is particularly passionate about working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, people who work in “helping” professions (education, medicine, clergy, mental health, etc), and those exploring the intersection of their sexual identity and spiritual beliefs.

Brian’s approach is laid back, relational, and insight-focused. He draws on a variety of therapeutic modalities including Narrative, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Person-Centered approaches. He is also known to use humor, poetry, music, and the occasional movie reference to help foster comfort, authenticity, and awareness in session.

Prior to joining TPC, Brian’s professional experiences include 5 years as a therapist in private practice, 6 years serving as an on-call chaplain at UNC Medical Center, providing inpatient mental health support at UNC WakeBrook, and 6 years as a summer camp & retreats director. The common thread in his work is his belief in the importance of a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for each person to be fully seen, heard, and valued for the unique gifts, opportunities, and stories they hold.
