Julia Powers Davis (she/her) provides psychotherapy with adults and older teens (generally 16+). She enjoys working with topics including but not limited to anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, OCD, ADHD, eating & body image concerns, chronic illness, life changes/transitions, young adulthood, identity, and relationships. In addition, she has particular training and experience in exploring spiritual/religious concerns if a client wants to, often including topics of religious trauma, moral perfectionism, or the impact of belief systems that may be changing or challenging. Julia has had experience in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, and community-based mental health care as well as faith communities and nonprofit organizations. In therapy, she takes an integrative approach prioritizing the therapeutic relationship while drawing on elements of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), therapeutic writing, feminist, and narrative perspectives. Above all, Julia hopes to offer an affirming, nonjudgmental space that invites clients into self-awareness and self-compassion, practicing shifts from being hard on ourselves toward being kind to ourselves.
