Julia Powers Davis (she/her) splits her time between seeing therapy clients and also serving as TPC’s Administrative Coordinator. When wearing her administrative “hat,” Julia works behind-the-scenes to make some of TPC’s documents, forms, letters, or website updates.

As a counselor, Julia provides individual therapy with older adolescents, college students & young adults, and adults of all ages. She enjoys working with topics including but not limited to depression, anxiety, stress, perfectionism & OCD, trauma & PTSD, relationships, identity, and a variety of spiritual/religious concerns (e.g. religious trauma, faith deconstruction, scrupulosity, and more). Julia’s therapy style takes an integrative approach prioritizing the therapeutic relationship while drawing on elements of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), or solution-focused strengths-based counseling. Above all, Julia hopes to offer an affirming, nonjudgmental space that invites clients into self-awareness and self-compassion, practicing shifts from being hard on ourselves toward being kind to ourselves.

Prior to joining TPC, Julia completed the dual M.S.W. and M.Div. from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work and Duke Divinity School. She’s had experience in a variety of settings including outpatient, inpatient, and community-based mental health care as well as faith communities and nonprofit organizations.
