Hollon Benson has a person-centered therapeutic approach with a strengths-based perspective which integrates clients’ spirituality into treatment. She works with adults, children, adolescents, and families, and has experience counseling youth and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She provides therapy designed to support clients in developing coping skills for adjustment to mental illness or challenging life situations. Hollon employs therapeutic techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems theory, narrative therapy, and insight-oriented therapy. Much of Hollon’s work has focused on issues such as anxiety, ADHD, depression, social skills, parenting, emotion regulation, and challenges around changing family dynamics. She strives to create an accepting and non-judgmental environment for therapy where clients feel safe to express their feelings, and gain both insight and improved functioning. Hollon enjoys working with a diverse population and all kinds of family systems.
